Hello, If you are dropping your student off in the morning and they are using the Gym entrance on the west side of the building, please refrain from pulling into the staff parking lot at the west end next to the Gym doors. With our staff entering the parking lot near, or at the same time, this can create a congested and unsafe condition. Please use the loop on the south end and have your student exit from the vehicle and walk on the sidewalk to the Gym door entrance. We appreciate your cooperation with this matter! Sincerely, Rodney Thomas Principal, John Page Middle School

There is not a sign up or reservation needed. Teachers will be in the cafeteria seated in alphabetical order. You can choose to visit any or all of your student’s teachers. To ensure that all parents have an opportunity to visit each teacher, we are asking that individual conferences be limited to 5 minutes per teacher. HALLOWEEN DANCE The Halloween Dance is Friday, October 27th after school until 5:00. The cost is $3.00. Students must go directly to the cafeteria after school and are expected to stay until 5:00. If your child chooses to wear a costume on October 27th, please follow the guidelines below. Costume Guidelines • Students must follow the school dress code. • Students will not be permitted to wear masks during the school day. • Use good taste – do not wear a costume that would embarrass you or others. Costumes which are violent, sexually offensive, or have a reference to drugs/alcohol will not be permitted. • You must wear shoes. • No roller skates/roller blades/skate boards/scooters. • Costumes should not interfere with your regular classroom activities (students must be able to sit down, move about the classroom, walk down the hallways, etc.). • Avoid the use of props. • Costumes should be put on at home. There will be no time provided for changing into costumes at school. • If colored hair spray or make-up is part of the costume, it should be kept to a minimum and put on at home prior to coming to school. • Colored hair spray and make-up products should not be brought to school. To all Page Parents, There will be an informational meeting about Lamphere's Sinking Fund Replacement Proposal with Superintendent, Dale Steen, on Monday, October 9th from 6-7pm at Page Middle School in the Auditorium. What is a Sinking Fund? A Sinking Fund millage is a limited property tax to fund major repairs and renovations to school buildings as well as technology and security. By utilizing a Sinking Fund rather than by issuing bonds, Lamphere will not incur new debt. Since the school district will not borrow money for the projects, no interest or fees will be incurred, saving Lamphere taxpayers millions of dollars. There is a significant need to improve and enhance security, replace technology, and provide renovations to our existing facilities. Please join Superintendent Steen for this informational meeting!

Your child will be taking the STAR Math and STAR Reading Assessment multiple times this school year. The STAR Assessment is a computer-adaptive test used to screen students for their reading and math achievement levels. These assessments are used to monitor student growth throughout the year, to estimate students’ understanding of state standards, and predict students’ performance on the state test. In addition, STAR helps teachers determine appropriate instructional levels and skills that students are ready to learn. Your child either has or will be coming home with a report that summarizes your child's scores on the test. As with any test, many factors can affect a student's scores. It is important to understand that these test scores provide only one picture of how your child is doing in school. If you have any questions regarding your child's STAR Reading or Math scores, please contact their English or Math teacher. Sincerely, Rodney Thomas
