For more info about the fundraiser that we're donating to, please visit: http://projectpawsalive.org/mhpd/ COUNSELING CORNER Parents - All 7th and 8th graders have completed their EDP (Educational Development Plan). An EDP is essentially a virtual file cabinet that allows students to develop their own career goals and a plan of action for reaching them. They become more aware of making a connection between career goals and the requirements for getting to that goal. Students learn about themselves, explore different career pathways (options) along with exploring training and education after high school. By creating an EDP, it allows your child to start thinking about credits/classes that are needed to for middle/high school and how these classes coordinate with the career pathways. If your child is in 7th grade, ask him/her, "What type of learner are you?" Answers will vary from auditory, visual, tactile or multi-modal. If your child is in 8th grade, ask your child what he/she might want to be when they become career-wise as an adult. Students are very excited to share their results! This will spark great conversation about the future.
